The "Gobi" Joint Stock Company, established on September 5, 1981, is the first national manufacturer to market Mongolian cashmere to the rest of the world by utilizing cutting-edge technology and valuing the ideal design and quality that fulfill the customers' needs.

A pilot plant for the processing of goat cashmere and camel wool is established as part of the UNIDO project.
1977

The Japanese government grants the government of the People's Republic of Mongolia a grant of 5 billion yen, and the two governments make an agreement to build a factory for goat cashmere and camel wool processing in Ulaanbaatar.
1981

The installation and adjustment of the machinery and equipment for the goat cashmere and camel wool processing plant are finished, the technology line is put into use, and the Gobi Factory, the first factory founded through Mongolian-Japanese cooperation, opens its doors.

The factory now has a Japanese SET-092 knitting machine with automatic computer control.
1991

The Gobi factory, which gradually adopted the international ISO-9000 standard and exported 98% of the produced goods, becomes the first factory in Mongolia to receive the International Quality Award and certificate. GOBI becomes the first ISO-certified (ISO9000) company in Mongolia.

According to the decision of the Privatization Commission of the Government of Mongolia, the Gobi state-owned enterprise is reorganized as the Gobi JSC, a listed company of the Mongolian Stock Exchange, trading 25.1% of its total registered capital, or 1,919,061 shares.

The "Gobi-2," Mongolia’s first factory for producing fine yarn, cashmere cloth, and blankets made of wool and cashmere, is officially opened

Gobi JSC expands internationally through partnerships with more than 30 nations and the creation of subsidiaries such as "Altai" in Japan, "Gobi Europe" in Belgium, and "Gobi-USA" in the United States.

In addition to installing the STOLL-330 knitting machine that is connected to the modern computer system, Gobi JSC also introduces yarn dyeing technology to its factory.

As a result of the "FCI" LLC acquiring 73.45% of the Gobi shares owned by the state through the international open tender, Gobi is now entirely privately held.

With a building designed by famous Japanese architect Sako Keichiro, Gobi JSC's Factory Store officially opens its doors.

Gobi opens a branch store in Tokyo, Japan. Gobi signs a collaboration agreement with the Italian "VVA Consulting Company".

In the framework of its upcoming 30th anniversary, Gobi collaborates with renowned Italian designer Saverio Palatella and introduces print technology to the cashmere industry of Mongolia.

Gobi JSC doubles its production capacity. In collaboration with Saverio Palatella, the first collection “Gobi by Saverio Palatella” is launched and Gobi JSC marks its 30-year anniversary.

Opens a new branch store in front of Central Square in Ulaanbaatar. “The Gobi by Saverio Palatella” launches a new Fall/Winter 2012 collection.

New Whole Garment technology is introduced, increasing the factory's production capacity.

The "Gobi Mongolian Organic Cashmere" brand was launched, which is distinguished by only using natural cashmere colors, beige, white, brown, and warm grey.

Introduces the Amoeba management which was founded by Kyocera, the famous Japanese company.

Gobi publicly announces the goal of becoming the number one company in producing 100% cashmere coats. Opens its branch store in Berlin, Germany.

A new sewing factory with a capacity of 100,000 cashmere coats and blazers was opened. Releases our e-commerce platform by launching the website www.gobicashmere.com.

Installesa the Italian Bigagli spinning mule machine in the spinning factory, improving yarn quality. Starts mass production of cashmere blazers and becomes the world's leading manufacturer of cashmere blazers.

Gobi JSC acquires Goyo LLC, the second-largest cashmere company in Mongolia, successfully making one of the largest mergers in the industry.

The highest State Award, the "Order of Sukhbaatar," was bestowed upon Gobi JSC. Gobi has also recently launched online platforms in the Russian Federation, the French Republthe ic, the Republic of Poland, Kingdom of Norway, The Kingdom of Sweden, the United Kingdom, and Northern Ireland.
