"Gobi" JSC has been honored as the best organization for adopting responsible water management in production

The "Improving Adaptive Capacity and Risk Management of Rural Communities in Mongolia (ADAPT)" project, financed by the Green Climate Fund and implemented by the Ministry of Environment and Tourism in collaboration with the Ministry of Food, Agriculture, and Light Industry and the Mongolian Sustainable Cashmere Platform under the United Nations Development Program, jointly organized the event "Sustainable Cashmere Day 2023" in Mongolia.

The event, oriented towards enhancing public awareness of sustainable cashmere, supporting collaboration, and advocating for best practices in sustainable cashmere production, brought together key stakeholders from the cashmere sector, including herders, herder production organizations, producers, and academia.

Participating in the event, "Gobi" JSC was recognized as "the best organization that adopted responsible water management."

Aligned with our commitment to the appropriate and efficient utilization of natural resources, we have implemented a series of measures to reduce water consumption annually. Initiatives such as the recycling of clean water for air conditioner cooling for the washing process of the primary factory, the incorporation of water-saving faucets in bathrooms, and the abstention from bleaching in cashmere dyeing contribute to a more efficient and economical use of clean water. Additionally, in 2020, we established a wastewater treatment facility to further bolster our sustainable practices.

Adhering to a policy of sustainable development, we pledge to deliver our customers’ products of quality, affordability, design, and stability. In line with this commitment, we plan to increase the production volume of responsible collections each year, striving to achieve the objective of sustainable production. At the "Sustainable Cashmere Day 2023" event, we showcased the "Cashmere Reborn Collection," an environmentally friendly product boasting 13% water savings, 31% energy savings, a 31% reduction in CO2 emissions, and a 16% decrease in chemical usage.
